We, at Racquet Science, provide table tennis coaching in various locations of Dubai. We have a team of coaches who are dedicated to helping you improve your technique and physical skills.

Here are some simple tips to help you mentally prepare yourself and get the most out of your practice sessions:

1) Develop a positive attitude

Regularly training to improve your game can, at times, stress you out or demotivate you, especially when you aren’t seeing the results. However, with a positive attitude, you can combat self-negativity and focus on your practice. One simple way to develop a positive attitude about excelling at your game is to have one or multiple idols. Watch interviews of your favorite table tennis players and try to look into things from their perception. Also, making friends with hard-working and passionate players is another effective way to develop a positive attitude.

2) Set realistic goals

Sure, setting goals can help you effectively improve your skills, but setting far-fetched goals can demotivate you and put your training regime off track. In order to avoid mentally and physically tiring yourself, make sure to set realistic goals. These goals can be as minor as getting your foot work right or properly angling the racket. Achieving these realistic goals helps you develop a sense of achievement which, in turn, motivates you to plan and achieve your next goal.

3) Practice positive self-talk

Negative self-talk is common and often lowers your self-confidence. Negative self-talk can also demotivate you from reaching your goals, putting your improvements to a halt. To combat negative self-talk, it’s a good step to practice positive self-talk and fill your subconscious mind with positivity. Speak to yourself as a coach or repeat positive phrases that your trainer uses. By ascertaining yourself with positivity, you feel motivated to pick up from where you left.

4) Manage your emotions

Emotions can easily rule over you and influence your actions. As a table tennis aspirant focused on improving yourself, it’s important to build control over your emotions to make sure they don’t shape your decisions. Building self-awareness in an easy way to practice managing your emotions. Analyze how you behave and what you say during practice matches and find room for improvements
